Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is known as bird lover's hub because of the numerous birrds that amke home in this park. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to over 400 bird species inccluding the flamingos that live on the lake and in the park's savannah grasslands. The birds species include but not limited to African Fish Eagle, Slender-billed greenbul, Long-tailed widowbird, Rufous-throat wryneck, Montane white-eye, Red-capped lark, Nothern puffback, Ruppell's robin-chat, Shining sunbird and many more.

Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake located in Kenya, just outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County. The lake is situated in the Great Rift Valley. Its name comes from the local Maasai word ɛnaɨpɔ́sha, which means "that which heaves," a term commonly used by the Maasai to refer to bodies of water large enough to have wave action during windy or stormy conditions. The name "Naivasha" originated from a British attempt to pronounce the Maasai name and essentially translates to "Lake Lake."

The Hell’s Gate National Park is named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries. It is a remarkable part of the Great Rift Valley, featuring spectacular scenery, including towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub-clad volcanoes, and belching plumes of geothermal steam, making it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. Hell’s Gate is an ideal venue for a day trip from Nairobi, where visitors can enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, a natural spa, and the biodiversity that includes raptors.

Olkaria Hot Spa

The Olkaria geothermal hot spa is a unique destination for a day trip to Hells Gate National Park or Naivasha. The facility is owned by the Kenya Electricity Generating Company and is located inside the Hells Gate National Park. It is called a geothermal hot spa because it uses hot water (hot steam that cools in the collecting pipes) collected from the various wells within the plant and emptied into the pool. The temperature of the main pool ranges between 30-40 degrees Celsius.

Eburru Ecosystem

The Eburu Forest covers an area of 8,715.3 hectares and is situated within the steep hills, deep valleys, and rolling foothills of Mount Eburu. It overlooks Lake Naivasha to the southeast, Lake Elementaita to the North, and Lake Nakuru to the Northwest. The forest is located within a geologically active volcanic mountain, with its highest peak, Ol Doinyo Eburu, standing at 2,820 meters above sea level. The forest is officially demarcated and is under the ownership of the Kenya Forest Service. It is one of the 22 designated forest blocks within the Mau Forests Complex water tower.
